Trash and Recycling Schedule By Street
- Trash is picked up weekly. Recycling is picked up every other week. Trash and recycle carts must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your regularly scheduled trash day. Drivers will not go back if you don't have your carts out curbside.
- Please follow the 3 foot rule when placing your carts curbside. Carts need to be three feet away from everything else. It is your responsibility to space the carts correctly. It is your responsibility to place carts where drivers can empty them.
- Carts must be placed at the edge of the roadway with wheels facing away from the street.
- Please be sure cart lids are closed.
How do I get a new Trash or Recycling cart?
How do you replace/repair damaged carts?
Call Waste Management at 800-972-4545 to report the damage. Waste Management will come out and inspect your container and replace or repair as necessary.
What can I put in my recycle cart?
Please visit the Waste Management Web Site for a guide to what you can place in your recycling carts. All recycle materials must be free of food residue. Please rinse and empty all containers made from glass, tin, and recyclable plastics. Absolutely no trash, plastic bags, yard waste, Styrofoam, clothes, wood, electronics, or mercury products can be placed in the recycle cart. White Styrofoam or closed-cell extruded polystyrene foam, can be brought to the Winter Street Recycling Center for disposal.
What can I put in my trash cart?
Trash carts are only for residential household trash. Absolutely no commercial waste, wood construction, vinyl siding, yard waste, paint, household hazardous waste, textiles, scrap metals or mercury products are allowed in trash carts. Waste Management drivers are required by State Law to leave carts behind, if they see any of the above items in the trash cart.
How do I purchase a compost bin?

Does the town have a rain barrel program?
At this time the town doesn't offer rain barrels for sale. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers information on Rain Barrels and other conservation tools.
