Elder Affairs

The Norwood Police Department works closely with the Council on Aging to organize workshops, seminars, and informational sessions, empowering seniors with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves from potential risks.

The partnership fosters a strong network of communication between law enforcement and the senior community, facilitating swift responses to emergencies and effective dissemination of information regarding relevant issues or developments affecting seniors.

The Norwood Police Department and the Council on Aging collaborate on initiatives such as the Norwood Alert Form and the Anti-Scam Task Force. The Norwood Alert Form provides information to assist in locating missing seniors with cognitive impairments. Meanwhile, the Anti-Scam Task Force works to combat fraudulent schemes targeting seniors, raising awareness and providing support to victims.

Through these integrated efforts, the partnership between the Norwood Police Department and the Norwood Council on Aging demonstrates a proactive approach to ensuring the safety, security, and quality of life for older adults in the community.
