Operational Override

On June 3rd, 2019, the Town of Norwood voted in favor of an operational override of Proposition 2½ - 5,622 in favor and 1,821 opposed. This allowed for the Town to collect $5.95 million in property taxes, and was the first time the override passed in Norwood since the proposition was enacted in 1980.

Out of the $5.95 million, $4.7 million was allocated to the School Department, and the remaining money to municipal expenses and a stabilization fund. This was passed in order to avoid a budget crisis now and in the future.
