Our good friend and recently retired co-worker former Chairman of the Board of Assessors Paul Wanecek passed away surrounded by family and friends.
Paul served the Town for 35 years with distinction and affection. He will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to have shared his company and by those
that had the privilege of working beside him.
Please keep Paul and his family and many friends in your thoughts.
The Assessors office is the main source of income for the Town. We derive our income from tax revenues, real estate, personal property and motor vehicle excise tax. We are responsible for updating and maintaining property ownership records, personal property records, exempt property records and Town owned property records. Along with subdivision record apportioned street and sewer records. Other duties include reviewing and maintaining building permits, tax exempt appeals, tax appeal cases ,appellate tax board cases, motor vehicle excise appeals and new business certificates. Responsible for real estate, personal
property and motor vehicle commitments.
