In November 2017 Town Meeting Members voted to purchase the Forbes Hill property located off of Upland Rd. The property consists of 27 acres of land and the historic 1915 Forbes Mansion. The purchase price was $13 million dollars. The board of Selectmen appointed the Forbes Hill Taskforce to conduct research on the property and make recommendation on the best future use of the property. The following public opinion survey is an opportunity for you to share your opinions on the future use of the property. Your opinions are important to the Selectmen, please take a few minutes to complete the survey and let your voice be heard. Information you might need to help you in your decision making can be found on the Town’s website and reading the Preliminary Development Feasibility Study: Forbes Hill. This can be found by looking under Departments; Planning & Economic Development; Plans & Studies. Before you begin, there are a few things you should consider as you are completing this survey. �‚� Residential Tax rate = $11.09 per $1,000 of value. �‚� Commercial Tax rate = $ 22.47 per $1,000 of value. The property is zoned Limited Manufacturing and would be taxed at the commercial rate. �‚� Currently the property is not being taxed because it is Town owned land.
