The mission of the Norwood Cultural Council (NCC) is to promote excellence, access, and education in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for residents of Norwood. Comprised of committed volunteer residents, the NCC meets monthly with the purpose of supporting events and programs via grants from the Town of Norwood and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

The Cultural Council has been an advocate for the Arts and arts programming in Norwood for about twenty-five (25) years, first as the Arts Lottery Commission and later as the Norwood Cultural Council.  The NCC has had a long history of guiding and funding cultural programming in our community.

Our primary function is to award grant monies to individuals and organizations in Norwood, and the broader community, who are dedicated to keeping our town a culturally rich and economically vital place to live and work. For example, we grant funding for enrichment programs at the elementary and middle schools, programs at the Senior Center, the Norwood Art Association, and the Morrill Memorial Library. This is just a small sample of the programs and activities that we support.

We are funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Town of Norwood, and by the money that we raise as an individual organization.

Our meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 7:00pm.

If anyone is interested in joining the Norwood Cultural Council, we can be reached via email at culturalcouncil@norwoodma.gov.
