Marriage certificates remain on file in the city or town in Massachusetts where the marriage intention was filled out. Certified copies of Marriage Certificates can ONLY be obtained in Norwood if the intention was filled out at Norwood Town Hall.
How much does a marriage certificate cost?
$10.00 per certified copy – Cash, Check (Massachusetts banks only) or Bank Check/Money Order.
Debit/Credit cards not accepted.
Personal Checks are not accepted for mail in requests.
How do I obtain a copy of a marriage certificate?
By Mail: (Allow 3 To 5 days from the day we receive the request)
A written request should contain the following information:
- Party A’s name (before marriage)
- Party B’s name (before marriage)
- Date of Marriage
- Number of Copies Requested
- Day-time phone number
- Cash or Money order (NO PERSONAL CHECKS BY MAIL) made payable to The Town of Norwood
- Self-addressed stamped envelope
