GET READY FOR THE 2022-23 SEASON!
Floor Hockey League
Grades: K-5 Civic Gymnasium Get involved in this Norwood Recreation Department/Civic Center tradition! Focus in on fun and everyone gets a chance to play! There is an eight team limit for each division, 24 teams in the league. Number of games per season is dependent upon number of teams that register.
CALL FOR COACHES: Interested in leading a Floor Hockey team this season? All interested coaches should contact Kristen Castrovinci, kcastrovinci@gmail.com, or by calling 781-762-0466. Volunteer applications and CORI’s must be completed for all interested coaches.
SEASON: December 2022-March 2023 (excludes school vacation weeks) FREE FIRST TWO WEEKS~ SKILLS CLINIC! Each team will participate in a FREE clinic the first two weeks of the program to go over the basics and create equal teams. Referees will also be on hand. After these clinic dates, we will hold one practice and then games begin! This clinic will be held December 5th-8th and December 12th—15th.
WHEN DO I PLAY?
Squirts: Grades K-1, Thursday
Mites: Grades 2-3, Wednesday
Pee-Wee: Grades 4-5, Monday
FEES: Must show proof of residency and attend either Norwood Public Schools or St. Catherine’s. Res: $55.00 NR: $65.00 Fee includes mouth guard, goggles and t-shirt.
EQUIPMENT: All players are responsible for providing their own sticks (plastic blade- no composite sticks are permitted). Goalie equipment—mask, chest protector and leg pads must be provided by players or coaches.
BANQUET: The Civic Center will be hosting a joint end of the year banquet at the conclusion of the season! Stay tuned for details!
