Stormwater

Under the CLEAN WATER ACT - municipalities throughout the country are mandated to address water pollution from stormwater discharges.  Stormwater can be defined as the overland runoff of rain and snow and is the primary water source of wetlands, streams, rivers and lakes.  Stormwater can also act as a transportation system for pollutants.  Soil from construction sites, litter from parking lots, oil and antifreeze leaks from cars, fertilizers, pesticides and roadway salts can all be carried and deposited untreated into our waterways.
