Norwood Police Department is an accredited agency consisting of over sixty sworn officers. These officers are responsible for the safety of Norwood's 28,000 residents and visitors alike. We work to secure the community by patrolling an area of just over 10 square miles by means of three shifts over twenty four hours, three hundred and sixty five days a year. Our officers take pride in the responsibility given to them by the town of Norwood and are grateful to serve this community. Welcome to our official website.

If you meet the requirements and wish to register, log onto http://publicsafetyllc.com and then click on examinations at the top of the home screen. Choose Norwood MA 2019 Police Entrance Examination and follow the instructions.
Citizen Police Academy 2019
The Norwood Police Department is pleased to announce the return of our Citizen Academy. The program will be held on Monday evenings from March 4th to April 29th; 6-8PM at the Norwood Police Department. Training includes topics such as: OUI and Drug Enforcement, Legal Update, Crime Scene, Computer Crime, Procedural Justice, a field trip to the Dedham House of Correction, a police ride-a-long and more. The Citizen Academy is open to anyone over the age of 21 with preference going to Norwood residents. The fee for the class is $40 per person which includes a hat and shirt. Class size is limited, so don’t delay in signing up.

It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than one acting in an emergency, to park said vehicle for a period of time longer than two (2) hours between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 AM of any day on any street or in or upon any Town-owned off-street parking facility, from November 15 through April 1 of each year without authorization from the Board of Selectmen or their designee.
