Deputy Chief of Police

NPDDeputyChief3Peter F. Kelly Jr. is the Deputy Chief of Police for the Norwood, Massachusetts Police Department. Over the course of his career he has served as a patrolman, sergeant, lieutenant, investigations commander and in his current capacity as deputy chief. Deputy Chief Kelly is the Executive Officer for the Metrolec Regional Computer Crime Lab which services over 50 cities and towns in combatting cybercrime and conducting digital media examinations. Additionally, he serves as a supervisor for the NORPAC Task Force, a multi-agency unit comprised of detectives from 15 Norfolk County police departments.

Deputy Chief Kelly is a graduate of Stonehill College with degrees in criminal justice and business administration, and he holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Western New England College. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and the Senior Management Institute for Police. Deputy Chief Kelly is a member of police professional organizations including: The International Association of Chiefs of Police; The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association; and the Norfolk County Chiefs Association.
